San Domenico is a large Gothic church on Corso Cavour, downhill from Perugia's main historic spine. Its three-aisled plan influenced the later design of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo.
The church had a difficult structural history: parts of the original building had to be demolished or rebuilt after instability and collapses, and the present church was consecrated in 1632. It is worth pairing with the nearby archaeological museum and San Pietro.
