The Mario Rimoldi collection, housed within the Regole d'Ampezzo complex on the Corso Italia, is one of the better small art museums in the Veneto mountains. Rimoldi was a local collector who assembled a substantial holding of twentieth-century Italian painting and sculpture, with a particular strength in the Futurist and post-Futurist periods. The collection includes works by De Chirico, Morandi, Ligabue, and other significant Italian modernists, displayed in a setting that contrasts pleasantly with the alpine surroundings. The same building also houses the Museo delle Regole — dedicated to the history and traditions of the Ampezzo community — and a natural history museum with Dolomite geology and fauna. A combined ticket covers all three; budget an hour and a half.
