The Bank of Lithuania building in Kaunas is a grand neoclassical landmark from 1928, built during the period when Kaunas served as Lithuania's temporary capital. Its formal facade fits the city's interwar civic architecture.
Inside, a small exhibition covers Lithuanian banknotes and coins from the First Republic, and the building sometimes hosts larger art installations. It is most useful as a short stop while walking between Kaunas's central museums and interwar monuments.
