Kaunas is landlocked but has several river and lake beaches that come alive in summer. The best is the Kaunas Reservoir Beach in Pazaislis Park, next to the monastery — clean water, good facilities, and a children's swimming area. Closer to the centre, Panemunes Park Beach sits on a loop of the Nemunas and is easy to reach on foot. Lampedziai Lake Beach in the west of the city is a smaller, quieter option surrounded by parkland.
