Kaunas Cathedral

Lithuania's only Gothic cathedral, founded in the 15th century

The only Gothic cathedral in Lithuania, founded in the early 15th century during the reign of Vytautas the Great. The exterior has been reworked over the centuries and the current facade is largely Baroque, but the nave retains its original Gothic proportions. The interior is restrained and atmospheric, with a few notable side chapels.
