Šiauliai Photography Museum

The Photography Museum (Fotografijos muziejus) was founded in 1974 as the first dedicated photography museum in the Baltic states. The permanent collection traces Lithuanian photography from the late 19th century to the present, with a particularly strong section on the Lithuanian School of Photography that emerged in the 1960s — humanist black-and-white work by Antanas Sutkus, Aleksandras Macijauskas, and others.

Temporary exhibitions are well curated and often free. Open Tuesday to Saturday in the centre on Vilniaus pedestrian street. Allow an hour to ninety minutes.
