St George's Church is one of Siauliai's more distinctive religious buildings, a red-brick neo-Byzantine church close to the railway station. Built in the early 20th century as a garrison church, it carries traces of the city's Russian imperial, wartime, Soviet, and Catholic histories.
The church is a brief visit rather than a major excursion, but it adds texture to a walk through central Siauliai. Its unusual silhouette and layered past make it more memorable than many ordinary parish churches.
