The Memorial Ossuary stands on a hill north of the centre and commemorates the National Liberation War of Macedonia. Its female figure with raised arms is important enough locally to appear in the municipality's coat of arms.
The walk up gives a broader view of Kumanovo and moves the city from ordinary streets into Yugoslav-era memory.
