Church of the Assumption

The Church of the Assumption stands just above Ohrid's Old Bazaar, close enough to the main shopping street that it is easy to miss. The church dates back to the 17th century, though much of the present building was rebuilt in 1832.

Inside, look for the frescoes and the carved iconostasis, which make the church more rewarding than its modest exterior suggests. It is a good short stop while walking between the bazaar and the older churches higher up the hill.
