Bars and Cafes

Ulcinj's cafe culture reflects its Albanian identity — strong espresso, long evenings on outdoor terraces, and little of the hurry that characterises northern European cafe life. The main square and the promenade above Mala Plaža have the highest concentration of cafes and bars.

In summer, beach bars operate along Velika Plaža. These range from simple shacks selling beer and grilled corn to larger operations with full menus and sound systems. The scene is relaxed rather than clubby — Ulcinj draws a mix of Albanian, Serbian, and international visitors, and the nightlife is correspondingly mixed in character.
