Eating Out

Ulcinj's food scene is shaped by its Albanian majority. Albanian cuisine — grilled meats, fresh seafood, burek pastries, and strong coffee — dominates alongside the fish restaurants common to the whole Montenegrin coast. Prices are noticeably lower than in Kotor or Budva.

The main restaurant strip runs along the waterfront and around the town square. Fish is the smart choice: the Bojana River delta south of town produces some of the finest grey mullet and carp in the Adriatic region, and the seafood restaurants serve them simply grilled or baked in local olive oil. The Albanian tradition of hospitality means portions tend to be generous.
