Velika Plaža — Long Beach — is the reason most visitors come to Ulcinj. Thirteen kilometres of flat, sandy beach running south from town toward the Albanian border makes it one of the longest unbroken stretches of sand on the Adriatic. The beach is wide, backed by low dunes, and largely undeveloped compared to the packed resort beaches further north on the Montenegrin coast.
The northern end, closest to town, has the usual beach infrastructure — sun loungers, bars, water sports hire. The further south you walk, the quieter and wilder it gets. The Bojana River delta marks the southern end, where the beach gives way to wetlands that are an important bird habitat. A naturist section operates in the middle stretch. Water temperatures are warm from June through September, and the shallow gradient makes it good for families with children.
