Amersfoort is not a shopping destination, but the old centre has enough small independent shops to make a wander worthwhile. The main shopping strip runs from Langestraat through Varkensmarkt to Utrechtsestraat, with side streets full of antique shops, cheese sellers, and handicrafts. On Friday and Saturday mornings, a street market takes over the Hof with fresh produce, flowers, clothes, and stroopwafels. A separate fish market runs on Fridays at the Groenmarkt, and there is a flower market on Friday mornings at the Lieve Vrouwekerkhof.
