Zutphen's bar scene is centred on the Groenmarkt and the streets between the old town and the IJsselkade. It is a university town without a university — lively enough to sustain a cluster of good cafés and brown bars, but quiet enough that you will always find a seat. The Dutch brown café (bruine kroeg) tradition is well represented here.
