Zutphen has a compact but solid restaurant scene concentrated around the Groenmarkt and the IJsselkade waterfront. The options are unpretentious — good Dutch bistro cooking, some international influence, and the local cheeses and smoked meats of the Achterhoek region. Lunch is easily handled at the market or at one of the café-restaurants around the central square.
