Skagsanden is the long, gently curving beach in front of Ramberg, one of the most accessible and photographed beaches in Lofoten. The sand is unusually fine and pale for the latitude, and the shallow shoreline catches reflections of the surrounding mountains at low tide — a favourite setup for landscape photographers chasing sunrise or sunset.
The break here is one of the most reliable on the Lofoten outer coast and attracts a small surfing community year-round (the water never warms much beyond eight degrees). A short walk from the parking area at the Ramberg church leads to the beach; expect company in summer and silence in winter.
