Kazimierz Dolny is small — you can see the main sights in a long afternoon — but it rewards a slow pace. The Renaissance merchants' houses on the market square, the ruined castle and watchtower above the town, the parish church, and the wooded loess gorges in the hills around it together make a full weekend. Wandering through the town and along the riverfront is at least as important as ticking off the official sights.
