Olszynki Park, on the southern bank of the Wisłok river, is the central green space of Rzeszów — a long stretch of mature lime and alder trees laid out as a public park in the nineteenth century. The river frontage was redesigned in the 2010s with a wooden boardwalk, a small beach, and outdoor exercise stations.
It is where the city goes to walk the dog, run, or hire a paddleboat in summer. The path along the river leads east toward the suburb of Słocina; west, it links via a footbridge to the modernist white "Lisia Góra" pedestrian bridge that has become an unofficial symbol of the city. Pleasant for a picnic, more so if you arrive on foot from the Old Town.
