Subcarpathian Philharmonic

The Artur Malawski Subcarpathian Philharmonic — Filharmonia Podkarpacka — is Rzeszów's principal concert hall and the home of a respected symphony orchestra. The building is unloveable late-1970s modernism from the outside, but the acoustics in the main hall are surprisingly good, and the programming is more adventurous than the marketing suggests.

The season runs from September to June, with most concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings. Tickets are cheap by Western European standards — fifteen to forty złoty — and language is not an obstacle. The chamber series in the foyer is particularly worth catching for a glimpse of the next generation of Polish soloists.
