The marina on the western edge of town is the focus of Ponta Delgada's evening scene. A row of bars and casual restaurants lines the waterfront, most of them open until late in summer. The clientele is a mix of yachties on passage, local young professionals, and tourists. It is breezy and pleasant on a warm evening — sit outside and watch the Atlantic swell roll past the breakwater. The standard drink is a Super Bock draft or a caipirinha made with local aguardente.
