Getting Around

Bucharest has a metro system with four lines covering the main axes of the city — it is fast, cheap, and the best way to avoid traffic. Buses, trams, and trolleybuses fill in the gaps but can be slow and crowded. Taxis are inexpensive; use apps like Bolt or Uber to avoid being overcharged. The city centre is walkable once you are there, but distances between neighbourhoods are long.
