By Air — Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) is the main airport, served by most major European carriers and an increasing number of budget airlines. It is about 17 kilometres north of the city centre. Express bus 783 runs to Piața Unirii, and taxis are cheap if you use the official taxi rank (avoid touts inside the terminal).
By Train — Bucharest's Gara de Nord is the hub of Romania's rail network. Direct trains run to most Romanian cities and international connections reach Budapest, Sofia, Belgrade, and Chișinău. Romanian trains are slow but cheap and cover the country well.
By Bus — Long-distance buses connect Bucharest to other Romanian cities and to destinations in Turkey, Greece, and western Europe. Most depart from near Gara de Nord or from the Militari bus station on the western edge of the city.
