Armenian Church

The Armenian Apostolic Church on Egalității Street is one of Pitești's most unexpected architectural gems — a reminder of the substantial Armenian merchant community that settled in Wallachia and Moldavia centuries ago. The building is modest but well-maintained, and its presence in an otherwise unremarkable Romanian city street feels like a small historical surprise.

Armenians played a significant role in the commercial life of Romanian towns from the 15th century onwards, trading across the routes between the Ottoman Empire and central Europe. The church is a tangible survivor of that community.
