The Dâmbovița County Museum of History, in a 19th-century mansion on Calea Domnească next door to the art museum, traces the region from Dacian times through the Wallachian principality to the present. Highlights include weapons, coins, manuscripts, and a substantial collection of medieval Wallachian objects.
A useful first stop in town: the displays put the Princely Court ruins outside into proper context. English captions are spotty.
