The most attractive corner of the old town — a small triangular cobbled square in the very heart of what was once the island, surrounded on three sides by Venetian-Renaissance and later baroque houses. The Manzioli Palace on the south side dates from the late fifteenth century and is the oldest secular building in town; its arched windows and stone-carved coat of arms give the square its character.
The ground floor now houses a quietly excellent wine bar specialising in Istrian whites — Manzioli Vinoteka — that has tables out on the cobblestones from spring through autumn. A pleasant place to spend an hour at sunset.
