Things to Do

Portorož punches above its size for a small resort town. The seafront promenade, the salt pans, the sculpture park at Seča, and the immediate proximity of Piran give visitors plenty to fill several days. The spa hotels are destinations in their own right, drawing Central European visitors for thalassotherapy treatments that use the local mineral-rich mud and salt — a tradition stretching back to at least the 13th century when Benedictine monks first documented the therapeutic properties of these waters.
