Getting Around

Benalmádena spreads over three areas that sit at quite different altitudes — the pueblo up in the hills, Arroyo de la Miel in the middle, and the costa on the sea. A car is useful if you want to move between them quickly, but not essential.

Local buses run frequently between the three parts of town and along the coast to Torremolinos and Fuengirola. The Teleférico cable car doubles as a tourist attraction and a way to get up onto Monte Calamorro. The seafront promenade lets you walk or cycle for kilometres between resorts; bicycles are easy to rent. Taxis are abundant and reasonably priced.
