Benalmádena is about 20 km southwest of Málaga and twenty minutes from Málaga–Costa del Sol airport, which has direct flights to and from most major European cities and is the natural gateway for the central Costa del Sol.
The Cercanías commuter train line C-1 runs from Málaga central station and the airport down the coast through Torremolinos and Benalmádena to Fuengirola, with frequent services. The train stops in Arroyo de la Miel — convenient for the pueblo (a bus or cable car ride uphill) and the marina (a 20-minute walk or short bus). Buses also connect Benalmádena directly with Málaga, Marbella, and the rest of the coast.
