Benalmádena has a string of beaches running the full length of the municipality, separated by short rocky points. From west to east, Playa de Torrebermeja, Playa Bonita, Playa Santa Ana, and Playa Malapesquera are the main ones on the central stretch; further east, around Puerto Marina, you find Playa Las Viborillas and Playa La Perla.
The sand is the dark grey volcanic grit typical of the Costa del Sol, the water is warm from May to October, and the beaches are well-equipped with chiringuitos (beach restaurants) selling sardine skewers fresh off the coals. None of these are spectacular natural beaches, but they are easy, family-friendly, and within walking distance of almost anywhere on the coast.
