Museo Precolombino Felipe Orlando

Tucked into a former eighteenth-century house in the pueblo, the Museo Precolombino is one of the small surprises of Benalmádena. It houses the pre-Columbian collection assembled by the Cuban-born painter Felipe Orlando, who lived locally and donated his pieces — ceramics, jade carvings, gold ornaments, and figures from Mexico, Central America, and the Andes — to the town.

The collection is modest by the standards of major museums but very well displayed across a handful of small rooms, and it pairs naturally with a visit to the eccentric Castillo de Colomares down the hill. Entry is free.
