A 12-kilometre stretch of unspoiled cliff coast between Maro and La Herradura (Granada), designated as a Paraje Natural in 1989 — one of the few sections of the Andalusian Mediterranean coast that has been spared development. The cliffs hold rare flora and the marine reserve below is one of the richest stretches of seabed on the Spanish coast.
A series of small beaches — many only accessible by kayak — punctuate the cliffs. Kayak and paddleboard tours run from Playa Burriana and explore the sea caves and small waterfalls that tumble straight into the Mediterranean. The cliff-top path between Maro and Cerro Gordo is open to walkers, though sections require some scrambling.
