Playa Burriana

Nerja's largest beach — 800 m of sand and chiringuitos

Address Playa de Burriana, Nerja, 29780 Málaga

The longest and most developed of Nerja's beaches, a 20-minute walk east of the Balcón de Europa around a rocky headland. About 800 metres of sand and pebble shoreline backed by a paved paseo of restaurants, ice cream parlours, water sports rentals and the small white houses of Burriana.

The beach has full facilities — sun loungers, parasols, lifeguards in season, showers — and the water is generally calm and clear. It is also the home of the chiringuitos at the eastern end serving the famous espetos de sardinas (sardines grilled on bamboo spits over driftwood). Crowded in August; pleasantly busy the rest of the season.
