Calle Cuevas del Sol

Calle Cuevas del Sol is the postcard street of Setenil, where white façades are pressed directly under the limestone overhang. It is busy, yes, but it is also genuinely astonishing: the rock is not decoration, it is the roof.

Many of the town's most photographed bars and terraces sit here. Come early if you want to see the architecture clearly, or later if you want the lively version with tables full and people lingering under the stone.

A story
The street's name is literal: this is the sunny side of Setenil's cave quarter. Houses and bars use the rock overhang as a roof, turning a geological accident into everyday architecture.
