Eating in Laguardia means eating Basque-Riojan: grilled lamb and vegetables raised on the plateau, local river trout, and the slow-cooked potatoes and peppers of the Rioja kitchen. The village has a handful of serious restaurants — more than you'd expect for its size — drawing visitors from Vitoria and Logroño who combine lunch with a winery visit. Wine lists are dominated by local Rioja Alavesa; you'd be missing the point to order anything else. Reservations are strongly recommended at weekends, when the village fills up quickly.
