Plaza Mayor

The heart of the old town, overlooked by the clock tower of the old town hall and ringed by stone arcades. It's a small square by Spanish standards — everything in Laguardia is small — but entirely in keeping with the medieval scale. The tourist office is here, making it the natural starting point for any visit. Market days bring local produce sellers under the arcades; at weekends the square fills with visitors from Vitoria-Gasteiz and Logroño who've driven up for lunch and a cellar tour. The views from the square's edges out over the vine-carpeted valley below are some of the best in town.
