Iglesia de San Ginés

The parish church of San Ginés sits in a small plaza just inland from the Charco. The current building was finished in 1666 with a single nave, a tall belltower, and a typical Canarian wooden roof in mudéjar style. The carved wooden ceiling is the principal interior feature.

The church survives several earthquakes and pirate raids and is dedicated to the patron saint of Arrecife. The annual fiestas in honour of San Ginés take place around 25 August with processions, fireworks, and street parties around the church.
