Fundación Antonio Pérez

A second contemporary art museum in the old city, housed in a former Carmelite convent near the Plaza Mayor. Antonio Pérez was a Cuenca-born writer and collector who donated his personal collection to the city. The works range from mainstream Spanish modernism to found objects and 'objetos encontrados' — Pérez had an eye for the surreal and the unexpected. The convent's cloister makes a calm setting for large-format pieces. Less crowded than the Abstract Art Museum, and worth an hour if you have the time.
