Puente de San Pablo

The iron footbridge spanning the Huécar gorge is the place to see the Hanging Houses and the old city from the outside. The original stone bridge dates to the 16th century; the current structure is a later reconstruction. Walk across and look back: the view of the casas colgadas clinging to the cliff is the most photographed image in Cuenca. On the far side sits the former Convent of San Pablo, now a Parador national hotel. The bridge is free to cross and accessible at any hour.
