Ermita de Sant Elm

A small hilltop chapel and lookout on the rocky headland that closes Sant Feliu bay to the south, dedicated to Saint Erasmus (Sant Elm in Catalan), the patron of sailors. The chapel itself is small and usually locked; the reason to come up is the view — the curving bay of Sant Feliu in one direction, the open Mediterranean in the other.

A 15-minute steep walk from the town up the marked path; alternatively, a 5-minute drive on the GIV-6612. Best in late afternoon for the light. Take water.

A story
The view of Sant Feliu from Sant Elm is the most reproduced image of the town — the 1908 watercolor by Albert Camós that gave the cove its first tourist fame was painted from this exact spot. The plaque at the viewpoint reproduces the original.
