Platja de la Ribera is the wide arc of sand immediately below the old quarter, framed by the headland of Sant Bartomeu at the north end and the chiringuitos along the Passeig Marítim. It is the most central of the Sitges beaches and the most photographed, and in July and August it is packed shoulder to shoulder with day-trippers from Barcelona.
The sand is golden and soft, the water shallow and clean, and the beach is fully equipped with showers, sunbed rental, and a constant turnover of food stalls along the promenade. Come early in the morning, or out of high season, to enjoy the postcard view without the crowds.
