Estadi Olímpic de Terrassa

The Estadi Olímpic de Terrassa hosted the field hockey competition at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games — the most important international sporting event ever held in the city. The 11,000-seat stadium is still in active use, hosting hockey internationals, the local Atlètic Terrassa HC and Egara HC clubs, and occasional concerts.

Terrassa is one of the historical capitals of Spanish field hockey, and many of the country's international players come from clubs based here. The stadium itself is a modest, functional bowl, but the surrounding athletic complex includes training pitches, a velodrome and athletics tracks. Visit during a match or training day for the best view of the city's strong hockey culture; otherwise, the exterior can be seen on a walk through the northern suburbs.
