Building Fernández López

Museum wing housing Pontevedra's 19th- and 20th-century Spanish painting collection

Building Fernández López was financed by museum benefactor José Fernández López and designed by architect Alfonso Barreiro. Opened in 1965, it incorporates a 17th-century house and its 18th-century annexe. It holds the 19th- and 20th-century Spanish Painting Gallery, covering work from Goya's circle through Romanticism, Impressionism, Sorolla, and the Basque painters to Cubism and the avant-gardes.
