Building García Flórez is an 18th-century urban palace commissioned by perpetual alderman Antonio García Estévez Fariña. The architecture — gable wall with arcades, tall balconies — belongs to the Compostelan school and gives you a good sense of how Galicia's provincial gentry built.
Restored by Fernández Cochón and reopened in 1942, the building now houses the third section of the Pontevedra Museum. Inside you'll find minor arts, naval galleries, Compostelan engravings, the chapel of San Telmo, and the celebrated Castelao gallery — Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao being one of Galicia's most important 20th-century artists and intellectuals.
