Getting There

By train

Comfortable train services run from Madrid (Chamartin station) and Barcelona. The railway station is outside the city center, but local buses run every ten minutes or so, and taxis are available. During San Fermin, trains book up fast — reserve as early as you can.

By air

Pamplona has a small airport with daily flights from Madrid and Barcelona. There are no direct international flights. If coming from southern France, fly to Biarritz and rent a car for the drive south — public transport between the two cities is limited.

By car

Pamplona is well connected by road. The drive from Madrid takes about four hours (roughly 400 km). From Barcelona, take the A-2 motorway to Tudela, then the A-15 north to Pamplona, or go via Zaragoza. During San Fermin, expect special traffic restrictions and limited parking.
