Kulturen

Open-air museum of relocated Scanian buildings, founded 1882

Kulturen — formally the Cultural-Historical Museum — is one of Sweden's oldest open-air museums, spread across Tegnérsplatsen near the cathedral. Founded in 1882, it preserves dozens of historic buildings relocated from across Scania: farmhouses, town houses, workshops, and churches reassembled into a walk-through portrait of southern Swedish rural and urban life from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century. Give yourself at least two hours.
