Uppåkra Archaeological Center

Visitor center for one of southern Sweden’s major Iron Age sites

Uppåkra Archaeological Center interprets a major Iron Age and early medieval settlement just outside Lund. Excavations here have revealed traces of a long-lived power centre, including ritual buildings and high-status finds that reshape the story of pre-urban Scania.

For Lund visitors, Uppåkra is a useful way to look beyond the cathedral and university town. The site is low-key in the landscape, so the visitor center, guided interpretation and seasonal programming are what make it meaningful.
