The Assembly House is a Georgian Grade I listed building at the heart of Norwich, built in 1754 as a place of assembly for the county's gentry. The interior features two large Georgian reception rooms with original plasterwork ceilings, now used as a restaurant, café, and event space.
It is one of the few historic interiors in Norwich that you can simply walk into, sit down, and have coffee in — without paying admission or joining a tour. The rooms are genuinely beautiful and the atmosphere is pleasantly unhurried. The building hosts concerts, talks, and exhibitions throughout the year.
