Grisedale Pike is one of the most recognisable fells west of Keswick, rising in a clean, pointed profile above Braithwaite. The walk up its north-east ridge is a proper Lake District outing: grassy lower slopes, heather, steeper rocky sections, and increasingly wide views toward Coledale and the north-western fells.
This is not a casual lakeside stroll. Take weather seriously, carry a map, and be ready for wind on the ridge. In good conditions, though, it is one of the best ways to swap Keswick's busy streets for a strong half-day mountain walk.
