A plain Edwardian building on Canute Road, marked with a simple memorial plaque. It was the Southampton office of the White Star Line, which employed most of the Titanic's crew. On 16 April 1912, when the news of the sinking reached Southampton, crowds of crew families gathered here to learn whether their fathers, sons, and brothers had survived. The bodies of victims were eventually identified from passenger and crew lists posted on the windows.
The building still serves as offices; you can only view the exterior and the plaque. A short walk from the Town Quay and the main port; combine with the Wool House and the Pilgrim Fathers Memorial.
