Whittle Arch

Whittle Arch is a pair of steel arches spanning Hales Street, named for Coventry-born jet engine pioneer Sir Frank Whittle. Built as part of the area's regeneration, the work is large enough to shape the street rather than simply decorate it.

It is a quick stop, but an easy one while walking between Coventry's cathedral quarter, the Transport Museum, and the city centre. The scale makes more sense in person than in photographs.
